Joal E. Wolf
As a young boy, Joal helped his father, Dr. Alan Wolf, make wine during the 1960's.  After graduating from the Pennsylvania State University in 1983, Joal went to Europe for four years.  While in Germany, Joal visited wineries and represented Conneaut  Cellars during trade shows.  Joal returned to the winery in 1988 as the Assistant Wine Maker, attended graduate school, and earned his masters degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 1993.  After graduate school, Joal worked as the Winemaster and assisted his father in all facets of the business.  As Winemaster, Joal has won several international, national, and state medals for his wines.

Dr. Wolf passed away in 1995 leaving the winery to his wife, Phyllis.  In 1996 Joal bought the winery from his mother.  At the 1998 Wineries Unlimited show, Conneaut Cellars Winery won an International Commercial Vineyard and Winery Award as "The Most Improved Winery".

Today, Joal not only continues to win awards but also carries on the tradition of being a family-run business.  He is currently serving the U.S. Army Reserves as a Colonel in the Military Intelligence field in Washington, DC.  Joal is also active in the Lake Erie Quality Alliance, Conneaut Lake Area Business Association, Masons, and the Military Officers Association of America.
